Feeding Kifu our homemade granola

That sounds like a lovely idea! Homemade granola can be a healthy and tasty treat for Kifu, depending on the ingredients. Here are a few things to keep in mind when sharing granola with your pet:

For Dogs (if Kifu is a dog):

✅ Safe Ingredients:

  • Plain oats (great for digestion)

  • Peanut butter (xylitol-free!)

  • Unsweetened coconut flakes

  • Small amounts of honey (in moderation)

  • Pumpkin seeds or flaxseeds (good for coat health)

❌ Avoid:

  • Chocolate (toxic)

  • Raisins/grapes (toxic)

  • Macadamia nuts (toxic)

  • Excessive sugar or artificial sweeteners (especially xylitol, which is deadly)

  • Too much salt or spices (cinnamon is okay in tiny amounts, but avoid nutmeg)

For Cats (if Kifu is a cat):

Cats are obligate carnivores, so granola isn’t ideal, but a tiny bite as an occasional treat is okay if it has:
✅ Plain oats, no added sugar, and no toxic ingredients.

General Tips:

  • Start with a small amount to check for allergies or stomach upset.

  • Avoid large quantities—granola can be high in calories and fiber, which may cause digestive issues.

  • If the granola contains nuts, make sure they’re finely chopped to prevent choking.
